Our new mooring in Kilkee.

We’ll all remember Sat the 21st of March for the day that Ireland’s rugby team won their 2nd Grand Slam since 1948 and for Bernard Dunn’s gutsy performance in becoming the WBA super bantamweight world champion. But for some of us it was also the day we put a permanent mooring in Kilkee.

It all started with Richard Roche saying “Hey Maurice how about getting a mooring in Kilkee”, Brian Kearney mentioned that we had a mooring way back but since none of us can use a compass we decided to put a new one in the bay. So off we went Dave Ryan, Johnny Hasset and Richard to Herberts for some brainstorming and after 2 years and many hangovers they hatched a plan to get someone else to do it.

The alarm was raised just after 1pm this afternoon when the divers failed to surface at the designated time.

A major search operation was launched involving the Kilkee Marine Rescue Service, the coastguard helicopter and the Aer Corps.

The divers were located a short time later – one is suffering from hypothermia, but the others are in good health.

Ebay not selling any knives including dive knives

All knives except the kitchen variety are being removed from EBAY from this date. This means you will only be able to purchase these essential diver safety items through a Dive store at the full retail price, as there will be no EBAY competition. This carte blanche ban has been brought about by EBAY USA not controlling and allowing a couple of US sellers to sell stealth knives and other inappropriate weapons on the UK site. This caused a ”Knee jerk” reaction by EBAY after a BBC Watchdog program to ban all except kitchen knives…which as we know is what a very high percentage of these horrific crimes are committed with since they are so cheap and easily available …not expensive diving knives!  If you are thinking of buying a dive knife, you have until 7th to purchase on EBAY!
